The 12 steps of recovery, originally used in Alcoholics Anonymous, are used in many settings to address many chemical and behavioral addictions and compulsions. I have extensive experience in referral and group support settings with the 12 steps of recovery.
While recovery is a vital part of restoring one’s soul and spirit to a healthy state, my role as a therapist is to assist the person, couple or family to heal from the trauma that may have precipitated the addictive behaviors.
